MLA urge for responsible driving and following traffic safety rules
PASIGHAT, Jan.24: Local MLA Kaling Moyong today flagged off a mass traffic safety cum anti-Drug awareness campaign organised by the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) in East Siang here today .
DC cum Chairman District Road Safety Committee, Tayi Taggu, SP, Sumit Kumar Jha, President, AAPPTF, Dobing Sonam, Deputy Chief Councillor , Rebecca Panyang Megu, Councillor, O.Gao, AAPTF President, East Siang Unit, Tabiram Moyong , WASE ( Women Against Social Evils), President Yamik Dulom Darrang, WASE GS, Joya Tasung Moyong, WASE members, students , Drivers of Autos, public transport and commercial vehicles also joined the awareness drive to spread the message of Road safety for Life safety in the district. DTO Marik Loyi was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the large gathering on the occasion at Giddi Notko Hall, Moyong said our Roads particularly Highways are witnessing increasing number of vehicles every year. Road safety education is of utmost importance and abiding by road safety rules will prevent avoidable tragic accidents and make our roads safer. He urged everyone to spread the message and follow Road safety rules for life safety. He also lauded AAPPTF for undertaking such awareness campaigns in various districts.
Responding to two point memorandum submitted by AAPPTF for Parking space in two locations in Pasighat , the local MLA assured all cooperation and support .
The MLA also advised the students and young generation to keep away from drugs and other intoxicants and instead pursue positive recreation activities like sports and other creative activities.
The MLA also took the opportunity to inform about the many ongoing smart City projects in Pasighat , with aim to improve the quality of lives and upgrading public recreation amenities for the citizens and youth.
Earlier, DC Tayi Taggu, after administering the Road safety Pledge to all on the occasion, also spoke on the need for such Road safety education to all stakeholders . Negligent and Rash driving is the cause of so many preventable fatal accidents. The DC also highlighted the ill effects of Drug abuse adding that our youth are the human resource of the state.
SP, Sumit Kumar Jha also urged all to join the fight against drug abuse to save the future of our youth. The SP also spoke on the importance of responsible driving by drivers & other Road Users and traffic discipline.
AAPPTF President, Dobing Sonam, also appealed fraternity members to follow and abide by all Road safety rules & MV Act Rules. The procedure for creation of Arunachal Pradesh Motor Transport Workers fund Board for the welfare and extension of various benefits to Transports workers is almost complete , Sonam shared.
WASE, President, Yamik Dulom Darrang, also narrated that WASE represents the voice and anguish of every mother to save Sons and Dsaughters from the clutches of Drugs and intoxicants .
EE Highways & Member Secretray , District Road Safety Committee, Dabe Perme, also highlighted on road safety tips and steps taken by Ministry of Road Transport & Highways to reduce Road accidents.East Siang Auto Welfare Association, President. T. Saroh also spoke .
