In a breakthrough, Pasighat Police successfully recovered a stolen bike and
arrested two accused persons involved in the theft. The case was registered at
Pasighat Police Station under PSG/PS/C/No.01/2025 U/S-303(2) BNS following a
complaint from Shri Dondup Choiphel, whose KTM Duke 200 (AR-09C-9973) was
stolen from his residence, Jarkong Pasighat area on Jan-8 night.
East Siang SP Pankaj Lamba informed that based on intelligence, the police team traced the stolen bike to a KTM service centre in Dhemaji, Assam. Acting swiftly, a coordinated operation was launched under his supervision and guidance of the SDPO, Pasighat Dr. Akanksha Milind Tamgadge, IPS. The team lead by SI Kodak Dagium of PS, Pasighat and SI Igel Lollen, OC, PS, Ruksin tracked the suspect’s location and, with the support of Jonai Police, apprehended Harinath Doley (23 years), S/o Kuhal Doley, R/o No.1 Milonpur, Laimekuri, Assam and recovered the bike from his possession.
Further interrogation led to the arrest of Bishnu Pegu (33 years), S/o Sunil Pegu, R/o Bijoypur, PO/PS Jonai, Assam, who had sold the stolen bike to Harinath Doley.
Both accused were formally arrested and produced before the court. Pasighat Police remains committed to solving other cases and ensuring public safety through proactive policing and swift action.
