PASIGHAT, Jan 29: As per initiative of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Ministry of Power, GoI, one day training on Energy Efficient Pumps under Agriculture Demand Side Management Programme-2023 was organized by the East Siang APEDA at the Pasighat Siang Guest House conference hall on Jan-27 last.
In his deliberation, APEDA Project Officer Er. Kape Badak stressed on use of latest technology agriculture purpose like energy efficient star rated motors so that they could save energy and resources. Agriculture sector was heavily dependent on water pumps to draw surface or ground water out for irrigation. They use electricity or fuel run Gen-Set that causes huge economic stress and therefore for effective and economic irrigation management, farmers should adopt modern technology like Solar Water Pumping system. APEDA has already installed such pumping sets at different locations successfully under PM-KUSUM Scheme in the district. It is an application of photovoltaic technology which converts solar energy into required electricity to run the pumping system. Such modern technology increases crop yield by ensuring a reliable and perennial supply of water to cultivating fields and save money, asserted Badak. He urged the participants to avail optimum benefits of the training and gain appropriate and purposeful knowledge during the daylong training programme and spread awareness among the farming community.
The training was attended by the officials of allied department and some progressive farmers of the East Siang district. General Manager of CENERGIST Energy Pvt. Ltd Kolkata, Nilanjan Bose imparted the training as resource person.
