Pasighat, 11 /11/2025:---
The Special Judge (POCSO), Pasighat, has
convicted Shri Bomdo Tali to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in connection
with a heinous case of sexual assault.
On 27/11/2023, a written FIR was lodged by
Miss A alleging that Shri Bomdo Tali had committed rape upon her. Accordingly,
a case was registered under Sections 342/354B/376 IPC read with Section 6 of
the POCSO Act at the Women Police Station, Pasighat.
The investigation of the case was led by
Inspector Smt. Ojum Riba, who was then the Officer-in-Charge of the Women
Police Station, Pasighat. Through her diligent and professional investigation,
she ensured that the case was pursued meticulously and justice was ultimately
delivered to the victim.
After the completion of investigation and a
fair trial, the Special Judge, POCSO Court, Pasighat, pronounced the judgment
on 18/09/2025, a copy of which was received today. The accused was convicted

Shri Pankaj Lamba, IPS, Superintendent of
Police, East Siang, lauded the exceptional efforts of Inspector Smt. Ojum Riba
for her dedication, sincerity, and professionalism in ensuring justice in the
case.
He further urged the community to stand
united against crimes of sexual abuse, emphasizing the importance of awareness,
reporting, and community vigilance to safeguard children and women from
exploitation and harm.
He also appealed to the public to report
any incident of child or sexual abuse immediately to the nearest police station
or through child helpline numbers to ensure timely intervention and justice.
