18 Nov’2025: The Office of the Deputy Director, District ICDS
Cell, East Siang District, Pasighat, successfully organized a One-Day Awareness cum Sensitization Programme
on the Protection of Women from
Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act, 2005, and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and
Redressal) (POSH) Act, 2013, along with the administration of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) Pledge
(Drug-Free India Campaign Pledge).
The
programme saw the participation of several key officials and community leaders,
including Dr. Akanksha Milind, SDPO,
Shri Odhuk Tabing, DDSE, Smti Oter Tayeng, Chairperson of the Local
Complaints Committee, and the Presidents/Secretaries
of the Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) and Women Against Social Evil (WASE), as
well as Presiding Officers of the
Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) from various departments.
Smti M.T. Padung, Deputy Director (DD) ICDS cum
Nodal Officer NMBA, welcomed
the participants and briefed them on the programme's significance in creating
awareness, particularly among women's
groups and rural women and also administered the NMBA Pledge to the
Participants.
The
sessions featured detailed presentations from Resource Person:
- Adv.
Nyame Dabi, Chief Defence Counsel, DLSA (District Legal Services Authority), elaborated on the
POSH Act, 2013, through a
comprehensive PPT presentation.
- Adv.
Eliza Moyong Taga, LPO DCPU
(Legal-cum-Probation Officer, District Child Protection Unit), presented
on the provisions of the PWDV Act,
2005.
Dr. Akanksha Milind, SDPO, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance
of collective awareness and
