PASIGHAT, Nov 18, 2025: The department of Hindi,Jawaharlal Nehru
College (JNC) Pasighat, organised a One -Day National Seminar on the theme of
“Bhaktikal Ki Prasangikta” at the
college conference hall on Nov 17 . Research Scholars, academicians, and
students from various institutions across the region participated in the event.The
seminar was organised for fostering
meaningful academic dialogue on the contemporary relevance of Bhaktikal and also participated by representatives from Rajiv
Gandhi University (RGU) and Central Hindi Institute.
In the inaugural session held at
JNC, Keynote speaker Prof. Nand Kishor Pandey, Vice Chancellor, (Haridev Joshi
University of Journalism and Mass Communication) addressing the seminar
virtually, traced the origins of the Bhakti movement to ancient Indian and
Vedic traditions, describing Bhakti literature as a transformative force that
shaped India’s social, religious, and political life.
Chief Guest, Principal JNC, Dr. Tasi
Taloh reflected on academic contributions and legacy of JNC and expressed gratitude to all
participants. Guest of Honour, Vice Principal, JNC, Dr. Leki Sitang,highlighted the Bhakti movement’s
influence in Northeast India, particularly among the Adi community,
Earlier, the event opened with a
group song by M.A. Hindi students followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by Principal
JNC, Dr. Tasi Taloh,Vice-Principal,Dr. Leki Sitang , HoD of Hindi Department,
JNC, Dr. Harinivas Pandey, and representtaives from Rajiv Gandhi University
RGU) and the Central Hindi Institute.
Earlier, Dr. Harinivas Pandey (Head
of the Hindi Department) highlighted the objective of the seminar , and the
inaugural session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.Tokpet Pertin, supported
by co-coordinator Dr. Banasiri Pertin, anchor Dr. Zebina Taki, and the
organizing team.
Later during the first technical
session , led by resource person Dr. Prasiddha Narayan Choubey, focused on
Vedic Bhakti and its impact on medieval intellectual traditions. Research
scholars presented papers under the chairmanship of Prof. Oken Lego, who
described Bhakti as “the light of human civilization.”
Meanwhile, the second session
featured Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad discussing Bhakti during the Mughal era, along
with insights from Dr. Chandra Shekhar Choube on Bhakti literature and Prof.
Pandey’s contributions. Chaired by Dr. Arun Kumar Pandey, the session included
paper presentations by scholars both offline and online.
Dr. Taro Sindik offered
concluding remarks, and Mrs. Manju Pandey graced the program with her presence,
the release informed.
