PASIGHAT,OCT. 31, 2025: The 4th North East Masters Table Tennis Championship
organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Masters Table Tennis Association (APMTTA)
under the aegis of North East Masters Table Tennis Forum, concluded
successfully today at Pasighat. The three-day championship, held from 29th to
31st October 2025, marked a historic milestone as it was organized for the
first time in the Sister NE State of Arunachal Pradesh.
The event brought together more than 160 Masters & Veteran Table
Tennis players from all Eight North Eastern States, showcasing the region’s
growing passion and camaraderie for the sport. Arunachal Pradesh team comprised
of 25 players from different districts. Competitions were held for both Men and
Women in the 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+ age categories, across Singles, Doubles,
Mixed Doubles and Team Events.
The championship witnessed spirited matches and a strong display of
skill and sportsmanship. Team Manipur, which fielded the largest contingent of
participants, emerged as the overall champion, securing the maximum number of
medals across various categories. Arunachal Pradesh won two Silver Medals
including Silver Medals in the 60+ Team and 50+ Women Doubles category. The
Arunachal 60+ Silver Medalist team comprised of Dr Kaling Dai, Er Ojing Jerang,
Chimoy Simai and Debasish Paul.
The Valedictory Function was graced by Shri Oni Panyang, Hon’ble MLA
Geku-Mariyang, as the Chief Guest, and CEO Pasighat Smart City Smti Manjuli
Komut as the Guest of Honour. The guests congratulated the participants for
their exemplary performance and appreciated the organizers for successfully
hosting the prestigious event in Arunachal Pradesh for the first time.
During the ceremony, Medals, Trophies, Certificates, and Cash Awards
were presented to the Champions and Runners-up in each category. The
championship not only celebrated competitive spirit but also strengthened the
bonds of friendship among the North Eastern states through the shared love of
Table Tennis.
