: As part of the Outreach
efforts to vaccinate left out children from Measles Rubella Preventable vaccine
,the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) focusing Municipal Areas (Urban) of Pasighat
Township is underway in East Siang district , which was launched by Dr Yagling
Perme, East Siang DMO at UPHC, Baskata. the Measles
Rubella vaccination campaign is vital for enhancing community health and
preventing the resurgence of these preventable diseases .
The program aims to identify the Drop Out and
Left Out children and vaccinate them with appropriate antigens. During this
1week campaign- a total of 19 (nineteen) vaccination sessions have been planned
to vaccinate 111 drop out/left out children across age group of 9 months to 5
years. The District Health Society under the chairmanship of DC Sonalika Jiwani
is committed to fulfill the desired goal
to achieve Full Immunization Coverage 95% by December’2025 and 100% by
March’2026 .This is in line with the National Zero Measles Rubella Elimination
Campaign to achieve 100% immunisation
coverage by 2026 by the Govt. of India.
As a
step up to the campign , District Task
Force for Immunization (DTFI) cum City Task Force for Immunization (CTFI) meeting was held under DMO to review and
discussed on the target beneficiary, session planning and Supportive Monitoring.
The Action plans areas of MRVC campaign from 21-27th August will begin from at HQ
and Municipality area of Pasighat .
MO i/c UPHC Banskata & MS BPGH shall supervise the vaccination
campaign and ensure that daily reporting is being done, Awareness campaign through district/block coordinators
to carry out IEC ( Information,
Communication & Education) in entire
Municipality area

Prevention: The vaccine serves as a powerful shield
against measles and rubella, significantly mitigating the risk of severe
complication, Herd Immunity:
Achieving high vaccination rates is crucial for fostering herd immunity,
thereby safeguarding vulnerable populations who are unable to receive
vaccinations,Outbreak Elimination: A
robust vaccination strategy plays a pivotal role in eradicating outbreaks, ultimately
reducing healthcare expenditures associated with managing these diseases,Public Health Promotion: The campaign
heightens awareness about the critical importance of vaccinations, fostering a
culture of acceptance and proactive health measures.Global Health Alignment: These initiatives contribute to
international efforts aimed at the complete eradication of measles and rubella,
promoting health equity and ensuring access to essential immunizations
worldwide.
