PASIGHAT, Feb 20: The 37th Statehood Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the JNC playground, Pasighat here on Monday. The national tri-colour was hoisted by the Addl. Deputy Commissioner Tatdo Borang, in presence of Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, PRI leaders, municipal councilors, retired bureaucrats, officers and leaders followed by Guard of honour by IRBn Jawans.
Addressing on the occasion, ADC Borang briefed on significance of the day and reminded the contributions of the leaders in state building process. He threw lights on political, administrative development, constitutional growth and formation of full-fledged Arunachal Pradesh. He mentioned various development activities undertaken by the government departments at district level and appealed the citizens to extend full cooperation to the administration in making East Siang a smart district in all fronts.
Chief Guest Borang gave away certificate of appreciation to Ruksin CO Oyam Saring, Namsing CO Radhe Tatung and Mondal John Panyang for their hard work in the process of interstate boundary settlement. Borang released “Ngilman Kilaju” (In English: Let us laugh), a book authored by Er. Tashiram Pertin and inaugurated International Year of Millet-2023 stall set up by Agriculture department and also visited other crowed pulling stalls on the occasion.
Other highlights of the day were cultural presentations by school children of various schools.
At Ruksin: ZPM, Ruksin-I, Aruni Jamoh hoisted the national tri-colour in presence of EAC Jacob Tbing, host officers and PRI leaders, retired bureaucrats and GBs at the general ground.
At Mebo: ZPC Olen Rome unfurled the national flag at Mebo in presence of ADC Ainstein Koyu, officers, leaders, retired bureaucrats, GBs and public.
