Guwahati, 29 January, 2023: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayuhs, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the year long Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Northeast Girl Students Association (NEGSA) as the Chief Guest at a function held at the PCM Auditorium All Assam Law Association building in Guwahati today. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister praised the success of the association over the years and called upon the students to take forward this rich legacy forward.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be part of the celebration here today. The success of the association can be gauged from the numerous initiatives it took in order to uplift the socio-economic conditions of many sections of the society; particularly women from the under-privileged section. Nari Shakti has always inspired for a socially responsible growth as it guides the society towards holistic development. The economic progress will not amass the same value until we have social value system in place. Our strong value in the society has transpired for generations due to consistent effort by our Nari Shakti. As you have completed 25 years of wonderful service towards the betterment of the society, I hereby call upon the students to take this legacy forward in the same direction.”
Adding to this, Sonowal said, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the country is experiencing a historic all round development. From the infrastructure creation to encouraging Exam Warriors, we have the opportunity to have him as our leader. Among the many things that we can learn from Modi ji is his immaculate time management skill. As a student or anyone, this is a great gift to have so that you perform,
The programme was also attended by Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, MLA, Guwahati (East) as Guest of Honour; Robin Kalita, former Director, IRCTC; Manoj Das, former Director, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) & MD, NERAMAC; noted academicians Dr Subrata Sarma Bhattacharya, Nabajit Dutta along with many other dignitaries.
