PASIGHAT, 27 Jan: Pasighat joined the whole nation in celebrating the 74th Republic Day on Thursday in a befitting manner and enthusiasm. East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu unfurled the national tri-colour, took Rastriya Salute and inspected the gala march past of seventeen contingents, led by parade commander Inspector, 5th IRBn Samuel Pertin in JNC playground in presence of MLA Kaling Moyong, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, ADC (HQ) Tatdo Borang, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, host officers, leaders, retired bureaucrats and general public.
In his address to the people, DC Taggu greeted the people and conveyed his profound gratitude to the planners of Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for making India a vibrant and prosperous nation. He also extended thankfulness to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for steering the nation towards the path of progress and place on due record to the state’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu for rapid and revolutionary strikes made under his leadership. He outlined the priorities of the East Siang District Administration for providing responsive and time bound, and commitment towards service delivery to the people of the district.
Amongst major achievements of the district, the DC informed that the long pending border issue between East Siang and the neighboring Dhemaji district of Assam has been resolved amicably and agreement signed on Jan-23 last at Guwahati. He appreciated all who worked hard behind the curtain for successful resolution of the boundary issues. Land acquisition and settlement for upcoming railway project was successfully completed and all construction works related to Smart City Mission are in progress, he informed. He also highlighted the achievements and milestones made by the various government departments of the district in various sectors.
The Chief Guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls put up by various departments. School children presented patriotic song and dances while VKV Oyan mesmerized the audience with band display. Commendation certificates were also handed over to the achievers for their dedicated and sincere services by the DC, MLA, Kaling Moyong, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, PMC Chief Okiam Moyong Borang on the occasion and ADC Tatdo Borang on the occasion.
At Ruksin, EAC Jecob Tabing unfurled the national flag in presence of Loksabha MP Tapir Gao, MLA Ninong Ering, host officers and leaders, GBs and general public and addressed the people.
At Mebo ADC Ainstein Koyu unfurled the national flag in presence of MLA Lombo Tayeng and host officers and leaders, GBs and general public and addressed the people.
At Namsing, CO Hage Tatung unfurled the National flag, and addressed the people.
